Food, Wine and Historical Discovery of the Champagne region

A 5-night Regional Food and Wine Program

September 19-24, 2017

Elan Travel and Chef Eric Arrouzé are pleased to offer a unique 5-night cultural, food and wine program in Champagne, France. Chef Eric will take you on an amazing and unique cultural and gastronomic journey through the world-famous vineyards and cellars of Champagne. Lots of bubbles ahead!

Beginning in Reims, the former city of the crowning of the kings of France.  You will discover along the Routes du Champagne both large and small champagne crafters and visits amazing cellars from Reims to the charming city of Epernay and along the beautiful Marne River.

This is a rare opportunity to discover an amazing world renown region just before the harvest.  Extremely rich in food, wines, history and culture, you will sample elite Champagne, French gastronomy at its best and meet passionate food producers, farmers, vintners, wine producers and local sommeliers. Located northeast of Paris, you might consider adding on our optional 3-night Paris extension.

It was during the 17th century that the monk Dom Pérignon, the famous cellar master of the Abbey of Hautvilliers, taught the wine growers the secrets of Champagne. He did not create, but perfected, the method with his choice of grape varieties and blending vintages from various vineyards. Chef Eric will help you follow in his footsteps.
