Each of Chef Eric's Private Cooking Classes Includes:

3 to 4 hours’ hands-on cooking class

  • Organic, local and sustainable food (as much as possible).
  • A half-hour of prep time to organize your kitchen like a pro.
  • Approximately 2 hours of hands-on cooking time to prepare restaurant-quality courses.
  • 1 ½ hours of dining time to enjoy the dishes you've prepared.
  • Recipe handouts for each participant
  • One signed copy of Chef Eric's recipe memoir "A Gourmand in Training" (a value of $16)
  • Aprons, dishtowels and professional kitchen tools
  • A half hour of clean up.
  • 150 km transportation service (return trip included) from downtown Vancouver ($0.99 per extra km)

If you live in the Vancouver, B.C. area, why not treat yourself and your friends or family to a private cooking class. Spend a fun-filled day learning new recipes and culinary skills in the comfort of your own home. 

Create a delicious multi-course meal for your dinner party with a French or Ethnic flavour. Chef Eric's cooking class menus include a wide variety of cuisines from $129 per person. For special requests, Chef Eric will work with you to custom design a menu according to your tastes, special dietary needs, and budget. Our four-hour hands-on classes are designed for avid amateur chefs and complete novices. Under Chef Eric's guidance, you'll spend half the class cooking and half the class enjoying the tasty meal you have prepared. 

Private Vancouver, B.C. area, Cooking Classes Rates:

  • One to two students: from $375 with food.
  • Extra students from $129 per person with food.
  • 6 and more, menu price per person X number of participant.
  • Length of each private cooking class:  4 hours
  • Drinks and beverages are not included in the price and are provided by the client.
  • GST and gratuities are not included.

How to Book Your Cooking Class Party?

  • Have the following information ready:
  • The number of participants
  • The requested date 
  • Any special dietary requests

Once all the details have been finalized (date, menu, location and number of participants), Chef Eric will invoice you for the full amount.

Schedule of Payment

50 % of the cost of the class must be paid at the time of booking with the remaining balance due 7 days prior the event. We accept payments per cheque, Interac e-Transfer, Visa or MasterCard credit cards online. 

Cancellation Policy

The first 50% is not refundable (that will secure the date of your cooking class)

The second 50% is refundable for cancellation made more than 3 days prior the event. Event canceled less than 3 days prior the events are not refundable.

How do I get ready?

Chef Eric will arrive to your place 1 hour prior the guests to set up the kitchen. To get everything organized in a timely manner please:

  • Set up the dining table for the participants and Chef Eric
  • Make space in your fridge (2 shelves) and in the freezer
  • Clear the working space (kitchen counter, kitchen table,..)
  • Empty the dishwasher and the sinks


Is my kitchen big enough?

If your kitchen counter top is big enough for a cutting board and there's room at your dining table for everyone in your group, you can comfortably learn to cook an impressive meal in your home kitchen. If you have a stove, an oven, a fridge and other kitchen basics, Chef Eric will bring any special utensils or tools necessary to cook specific dishes. Once the cooking class is complete, Chef Eric will help you to clean up, leaving you free to enjoy the rest of your evening.


What kind of menus can we get?

Chef Eric 's offers an array of theme - and skills-based menus in his private cooking classes. You can see them under "private cooking class menus" on the right hand side.

Do you have another menu idea in mind for your class? For an additional charge, Chef Eric can develop a customized list of recipes for you to make.


When can you come?

  • We adapt our schedule to yours by offering classes in the morning, afternoon and evening. Go to Chef Eric's online calendar to see available dates.
  • Advance booking is strongly recommended, especially for group classes, but we can also organize last-minute classes (dependent on Chef Eric's schedule) with as little as 1 day notice.
  • We can reschedule booked classes without extra charge but we require at least 48 hours notice. Last minute schedule changes are subject to re-payment of the initial booking fee.
